One of the league of seemingly indestructible aging rockers, Lemmy Kilminster died earlier today.
The bassist and Motorhead front-man died of an extremely aggressive cancer, which was just reported only two days ago. Plagued by various health issues over the past few years, the hard-living, hard-rocking Lemmy made no secret about his alcohol and drug use. He famously claimed he had consumed a bottle of Jack Daniel’s every day since turning 30.
“Apparently I am still indestructible,” he quipped, in a 2014 interview, saying that only death would keep him from performing.
To date, Motörhead have released twenty studio albums and achieved 30 million in sales worldwide.
Our culinary friends at BlackboardEats.com, the dudes with all the inside skinny on the hottest new restaurants and best deals on dining in NYC, have come out with their list of hotspots for NYE 2016…and wouldn’t ya know it, we made the list!
At midnight TONIGHT, the long-awaited catalog of The Beatles will finally be released to multiple streaming services online. The lads from Liverpool are giving this Christmas present after years of negotiations.
Announcing the news in a 35 second video medley, the band has finally relented in a year where the Warner Music Group announced that its streaming revenue would outpace its download revenue for the first time ever.
They now join the ranks of other famous hold-outs who have eventually allowed their catalogs to be streamed, including Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and AC/DC.
From all of our players and professionals at Shake Rattle & Roll, we want to extend to all of you our happiest wishes for a joyous holiday season, and an even better 2016 to come!
Our NYC office got together last night for it’s annual holiday party (since we’re all piano players, the only way to get everyone together was to have our party on a Monday!) at Frames Bowling Lounge, one of our NYC client venues.
It’s always nice to get our rock n roll gang together for a night away from the stage. But this time, we enacted a new SR&R tradition, and as far as we know, something that no other Dueling Pianos company does.
We awarded our first-ever Employee of the Year award, to the VERY deserving Andrew “Po-Po” Potenza.
If you’ve ever been to our long-running NYC Dueling Pianos show, then you’ve witnessed the drumming prowess that is Andrew. A master percussionist who has been with Shake Rattle & Roll since it’s very inception, he also works behind the scenes to help us get ready every Saturday night to melt your faces.
Andrew received a certificate, and a cash award (to be misused on something frivolous).
Congratulations Andrew, and to all the Shake Rattle & Roll team, for our biggest and best year yet –
455 shows, including over 40 different venues scattered across 12 states and DC.
